Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC™)

New York State has selected a new high school equivalency test called the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC™) to replace the General Educational Development (GED®) as the primary pathway to a New York State High School Equivalency Diploma. For help preparing for the TASC exam contact the libraries below or check out the Learning Express High School Equivalency Center, available with your OCPL library card.

Some OCPL locations offer GED / TASC study groups or classes. If your library is not listed below, please contact them directly.

Central Library TASC Academy

Study for the TASC @ the library
Do you want to study for the TASC, but can’t attend regular classes?

Sign up for the TASC Academy at the library and study online to prepare for the test at the library or at home.  You can work independently, at your own pace, and also attend help times for reading and math assistance.

Reading Help: Mondays, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Math Help: Thursdays,  9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Hazard Branch Library

Hazard Library and The Newland Center have partnered to provide High School Equivalency (HSE) instruction at the library.  
Call Linda at 471-1446 and ask  to schedule a time for tutoring at Hazard Branch.

Mundy Branch Library 

Mondays – Wednesdays
9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
