Substitute Librarian Positions
The Northern Onondaga Public Library is seeking qualified librarians to substitute at libraries in Brewerton, Cicero and North Syracuse.
Hours: available shifts are 10-3 on Saturdays and 12-5 (at the North Syracuse Library only) on Sundays
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour. No benefits are included
Duties/Description: Provide reference and readers advisory service for patrons of all ages, conduct database searches, and assist patrons using public computers.
Requirements: Candidates must have recent library experience, ALA accredited MLS degree and a valid New York State Public Librarian’s Certificate. Other requirements include:
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills
- Database searching ability
- Familiarity with common computer applications
- Knowledge of Polaris system helpful
