Every year the American Library Association announces a number of literary awards. For award winning titles and book / author information, choose from the awards listed below.

Giverny Award
The Giverny Award honors the author and illustrator of the best children’s science picture book.
Golden Kite Award
Presented by the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, the Golden Kite Awards are given annually to recognize excellence in children’s literature.
Horn Book Awards
Among the most prestigious honors in the field of children’s and young adult literature, winners are selected in three categories: Picture Book, Fiction and Poetry, and Nonfiction.

Coretta Scott King Award

Mildred L. Batchelder Award
The Batchelder Award is a citation awarded to an American publisher for an outstanding children's book originally published in a language other than English in a country other than the United States, and subsequently translated into English and published in the United States.

Scott O'Dell Award
The Scott O'Dell Award honors an author of an outstanding work of historical fiction for children or young adults.
