Candid
I tried
to capture
the movement
the moment
I tried
to twitch
my finger
on the button
I tried
to cram
life into
a few thousand pixels
but the film
didn’t move fast
enough
it couldn’t catch
the moment
the memory
taunts me
from the glossy print
it outran me.
the vivacity,
the life.
the living,
the breathing,
the laughing.
as I tried
to capture
the motion
I got blurs
and half-shut eyes
and unflattering
poses
and chaos
because I tried to
capture
candid
in that film
my film
now I settle
for memories
