TeenWork - Autumn 2007

What Makes Me Tick

I love colors,
Flawless, bright colors
Dancing,
Shining,
Prancing
Colors,
Prancing like the
Spunky pony I ride,
My cantering pony,
Muscles rippling beneath
Appaloosa color coat,
Mouth tugging at the bit.
Wanting,
Yearning,
To go faster,
And yet, however fast
She goes,
I always feel comfortable,
As comfortable as in my
Orchestra seat, my
Violin in my hands and
The music flowing around me
As I gently float in it,
Like the snowflakes that
Dapple my chestnut-brown hair,
The opposite of my creamy
Face and brown freckles,
The graceful, dancing
Snowflakes that whirl away
All the hustle and bustle and
Replace it with a peaceful
Silence, the silence that you get
When you dive into a book,
A wonderfully written book that
Whisks you away from the real world
For a few short, blessed hours,
Or the peace that you feel when
You look at the undisturbed white
Snow on a countryside field, untouched
By modern man, made even whiter
By the gentle moonlight
Shining from above,
As gentle as falling
Asleep to a blissful
Rest after a
Long,
Hard
Day.
