TeenWork - Spring 2008

Sanity

I want to be free
Free from this dark place
Waiting for the Angel of Death
Waiting for the light
Going crazy stuck here
It has a hold upon me
One I cannot shake
One I can’t stand
But can’t live without
Am I just crazy?

Is this a dream
Or is it a nightmare
Haunted by my past
Frightened by my future
Broken by my thoughts
Complete by my optimism
My tears still fall
But still I laugh
Am I just insane
Or the sane one

Alone I wait
Just sit and wait
For something to happen
For death or my savior
Waiting for the light or more darkness
Waiting for liberation
I wait going insane
Or becoming sane
Trying to find a way out
Waiting for my savior.

- Kasey Bocchino, grade 8
