HISTORY

LaFayette Public Library was established in 1936. It has been in its present location, LaFayette Commons, for two years, having been housed in the old Farrington House from 1966 until 1996. It is one of the southernmost libraries affiliated with the Onondaga County Public Library System.

 

LaFayette is most famous for the 1869 "discovery" of the Cardiff Giant. Today, LaFayette is better known as home of the famous Apple Festival.
