Government Documents
Depository Library Programs
The 25th New York Congressional District's only public library designated as a Federal Depository, the Onondaga County Public Library's Central Library receives about 30 percent of all government publications available through the Federal Depository Library Program. These materials include economic and demographic statistics, legal information, census materials, topographic maps, navigational charts, educational publications, consumer and health information and much more.
Also designated a New York State Depository Library, the Central Library makes available New York State agency publications such as annual reports, statistical materials, public health and a myriad of other materials.
Documents received through the depository programs become part of the overall collection. Most are listed in OCPL's catalog, and may be searched by title, author, or topic. Ask for assistance at the Level 3 Information Desk or use the Ask a Librarian service.

Online Resources
Many government documents that were previously published as books, serials and pamphlets are now accessible only on the Internet. USA.gov is the U.S. government's official web portal. It is an excellent starting point for locating government information online. For additional links, see OCPL's Government Information Web Links.
