The Literacy Resource Center also offers instructional books and videos for literacy and ESOL teachers and tutors, as well as access to a VCR for viewing literacy-related tapes (by appointment). Tutors will find many helpful ideas for instruction, including blackline masters of worksheets for their learners.

This book presents an overview of adult literacy tutoring, learning, and the balanced literacy approach. It gives many useful hints to help students build vocabulary, increase sight recognition, decode letters into sounds, improve writing, work with
computers, develop numeracy, and more.
Teaching Adults: An ESL Resource Book
This book includes dozens of easy-to-use activities that can be used with learners, including creating language experience stories, working with dialog journals, and developing story maps.
Oxford Picture Dictionary Lesson Plans
Lesson plans to accompany the popular Oxford Picture Dictionary. The Lesson Plans offer a complete seven-stage lesson plan for each topic.
