The Cinderella story gets an updating and a dose of spunk as tomboy Drew Barrymore outwits her evil stepmother and makes it to the ball with an assist from Leonardo da Vinci. Rated PG
College student Matthew Broderick finds himself working for New York City gangster-esque Marlon Brando. Toss in a Komodo dragon and Bert Parks for a trunk full of laughs. Rated PG
The Mouse That Roared Long before Eddie Murphy played seven parts in The Nutty Professor, Peter Sellers tackled three roles in this British spoof about a tiny European kingdom declaring war on the U.S. in hopes of getting lots of American aid after they surrender. Not Rated
Smart, funny, but plain middle daughter endures school dances, geeks, and her big sister’s wedding all the while just missing a charming prince. If you were in high school during the 70s or 80s you’ll recognize the characters in this funny and heartwarming film. Rated PG
Sommersby Richard Gere stars as a returning Civil War veteran who may or may not be Jody Foster’s husband. Rated PG-13
No this isn’t the Gregory Peck – Ingrid Bergman film. It’s a documentary that follows the fortunes of eight kids competing at the National Spelling Bee. At times it’s reminiscent of a Christopher Guest (This is Spinal Tap, Best in Show) film. You’ll be on the edge of your seat as the likeable contestants and their families sweat it out, trying to avoid the “ping” of defeat. Not Rated
