*** Important Notice to Talking Book Readers ***

The New York State Talking Book and Braille Library is switching its service for persons with print disabilities from cassette tapes to digital cartridges.  The cassette machines are being discontinued in favor of new digital book players.   All Talking Book readers are encouraged to begin using these digital book machines and to sign up for the BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) program which allows qualified readers with disabilities to download Talking Books directly to their computer.

The Central Library offers access to its catalog, the Internet, word processing, all print resources and more through special technologies designed for use by people with disabilities.

Braille embosser

Aladdin closed-circuit TV magnifier

American Printing House 4-track cassette player/recorders

Talking Book cassette machines

Pocket-Talker assistive listening device
