ABOUT THE LIBRARY
The DeWitt Community Library was founded in 1962 by a group of dedicated individuals determined to bring library service to the residents of Dewitt. These volunteers started with 400 books and now, over thirty years later, our holdings include over 68,000 books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape and compact disc, and magazines.
We are located in the ShoppingTown Mall, just below the food court (in what used to be the Bon Ton Store).
Our services include walk-in and telephone reference assistance; 12 public access internet and word processing computers; meeting rooms for public use; monthly book discussions for adults and teens; notary public; weekly story hours for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers; children's craft programs, and summer reading clubs for children and teens.
Our Friends of the DeWitt Community Library (founded in 2000) consists of over 130 members who help support and promote our library's services, facilities, and needs.
