USA PATRIOT Act Resources

 

Text of the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001:
The “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act” (USA PATRIOT Act) was enacted in October 2001 in response to the terrorist attacks of September 11.

The USA PATRIOT Act and Libraries:

Freedom to Read Protection Act of 2003:
The "Freedom to Read Protection Act" (H.R. 1157) introduced by Rep. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) would exempt libraries and bookstores from Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act.
