OCPL’s April Art Exhibits

 

SYRACUSE, NY — Visit the Onondaga County Public Libraries to view artwork throughout the month of April.  Scheduled exhibits are as follows: 

Soule Branch library, located at 101 Springfield Rd in Syracuse, welcomes participants from the Onondaga Art Guild who will share an eclectic collection of paintings from their favorites of watercolors, acrylics, and pastels.  OAG is the oldest art guild in the country.  The members meet each month to promote artistic skills and interest in the fine arts and have sponsored painting workshops and occasional field trips to museums and exhibitions.  Call 449-4300 for more information.   

Mundy Branch library, located at 1204 South Geddes St in Syracuse, hosts photographer Jim Budrakey.  Badrakey’s exhibit entitled, Hey! It’s April displays a dazzling array of colorful floral photographs designed to raise your spirits and leave thoughts of winter behind.  Call 435-3797 for more information. 

Betts Branch library, located at 4862 South Salina St in Syracuse, displays the artwork of students from Kasson Road Elementary School.  Their artwork will be available for your viewing pleasure all month long at the library. Please stop in and enjoy the various pieces created by this very talented group of students. Call 435-1940 for more information. 

Central Library, located in The Galleries of Syracuse at 447 South Salina St, will display Jim Dieso’s Beyond Photography exhibit.  Visit our Browse About area in the main lobby and enjoy the photography of Jim Dieso.  His final products of digital pictorials and digital expressions begin with “photographic images as I continually exercise and refine my personal art of seeing.”  The artists is continually on the look out for a world of color, line and form found in barns, fields, farmlands, lakeside skies and other objects.  Dieso uses interplay of light, shape, appearance, patterns, and textures in his art. Paine Branch library, located at 113 Nichols Ave in Syracuse, invites you to enjoy viewing the black and white photo cityscapes of Tiffany (O’Brien) Gratien. They will be on exhibit during the months of April and May.  Call 435-5442 for more information. 

Petit Branch library, located at 105 Victoria Pl in Syracuse, offers landscape photos of the Sedgwick area of Syracuse and Onondaga Lake Park.  Simple Things by Buddy Belonsoff will be displayed throughout the month of April.  The exhibit also includes an Everson Museum exhibition photo titled "Puffy Clouds.”  Call 435-3636 for more information.
