State Construction Grant Summary

The New York State Legislature provided a one-time allocation of $14 million in capital funds for public library construction in the 2006-2007 State Budget.

New York State's 23 library systems submitted a total of 206 project applications on behalf of their libraries.

OCPL was awarded a total of $446,362 for the following projects:

Central Library: Restroom for Children's World $18,329
Paine Branch:  ADA compliant ramp and entrance $44,968
White Branch: ADA compliant ramp and window replacement $88,681
Betts Branch: ADA compliant restroom and entrance ramp $38,095
Soule Branch: ADA compliant restroom $22,488
Total Central and Branches:   
$212,559
   
Fayetteville Library: Community Café and Performance Space $75,934
Liverpool Library: Roof $75,735
Tully Library: Roof $6,000
Solvay Library: ADA compliant entrance $75,934
Total Suburban Libraries:   
$233,803


OCPL also received $25,506 as part of an annual construction grant program, for the following projects:

Supplemental air conditioning for the computer lab $4,138

Tully Library: Attic sealing and insulating $7,400
Fayetteville Library: Roof work $5,970
