Lends itself to study of craft/esthetics, as well as social issues

Lends itself to participation in other arts, e.g., drama

Ties to Central New York

Convenient (are there, or will there be, related local resources, people and events?)

Fiction slightly preferred to non-fiction

Other genres, such as poetry, short stories, and biography, should be considered

Current social relevance is desirable

Interesting, compelling and inspiring

Author diversity (race, religion, ethnicity, etc.) preferred
