Obsessions by Jaleel Campbell @Paine

Fri, Feb 28th (All day)
Event Type:
Art Exhibit

Syracuse native and multidisciplinary artist, Jaleel Campbell will display his work at Paine Branch Library throughout February in honor of Black History Month. He will showcase select pieces of his work spanning the last five years including illustrations, photographs and cloth dolls. Jaleel attained his BFA in Visual Communications with a specialization in graphic design from Cazenovia College and is now pursuing his MFA in Media Arts & Culture at SUNY Purchase in Westchester County. His work has been featured at the Community Folk Art Center, Redhouse Theater, the Everson Museum, the Neuberger Museum and many other art/cultural facilities. Whether it be through his illustration work that showcases the often underrepresented; video work that captures the beauty and essence of Black life and culture; or even his handmade dolls that aim to honor and acknowledge those who came before us, there is no limit to his genius.
