Fusion 360 is 3D modeling software used by engineers and designers to create graphic models of their ideas. Users can design parts and then virtually assemble them into a product. In this workshop, you will be taught how to design and assemble several simple parts using the CAD program Autodesk Fusion 360. Ethan Greene, a University at Buffalo Engineering major, will lead the workshop. You don't need to have any experience with CAD to participate, but you should be comfortable using laptop computers and basic software programs. Teen Art Camp

GarageBand Audio Software

GarageBand is a fully equipped music production software available on Macs in the MakerSpace studios.
The software includes a complete sound library with instruments, presets for guitar and voice, and an incredible selection of session drummers and percussionists.

Audacity Audio Software

Audacity is a great tool for storytellers and music makers. It can be used to create podcast material, soundtracks, songs, voice-overs or audition material. Learn how to use Audacity to record live audio, find free sound effects and Foley clips, and use editing tools to refine your tracks.

Video Basics and iMovie Software

Learn what’s available in the MakerSpace’s video studio for all of your video production needs.  Additionally, we will introduce you to iMovie software useful for editing video clips, adding titles, themes, music and effects such as fades and slides.

OtherMill and OtherPlan Software

Interested in using the OtherMill CNC milling machine to mill your own circuit boards and other projects out of wood and metal? This training will provide you with the experience necessary to operate the machine safely and knowledgeably, as well as how to use the OtherPlan software. Ages 16 and up.

Cricut Explore Air and Design Space Software

Cricut is an electronic cutting machine for DIY projects and crafts. It allows you to make projects with over 100 different materials including paper, adhesive vinyl and fabric. In this training we will show you how to initiate your project in Design Space software and send the file to Cricut.

Sewing Basics with Brother CS-6000i

Interested in learning how to use the Brother CS-6000i sewing machine for a variety of fabric projects? This training will cover the basics of threading the machine, winding the bobbin, and using computerized settings to produce unique sewing patterns.

3D Printing

Schedule an appointment to 3D print a small object found on Thingiverse.com!

3D Printer Training

In this appointment based training you will learn how to use the 3D printer on your own. Once you finish the training, staff will instruct you on where to purchase 3D printing supplies.

3D Modeling

Add 3D modeling to your skill set by learning the concepts behind CAD (Computer Aided Design). Participants will gain experience with design essentials necessary to create 3D objects.
