Join us for a bi-monthly hour of performances and share your creativity with the MakerSpace community. 
At the open mic you can share your music, videos, poetry, dance, etc. 
Come to either watch or perform.
We will provide a laptop, PA speakers and a projector.

Join Walter in this fun gardening class in which you will decorate your own mini-pumpkins and grow Spider plant cuttings. All supplies will be provided.

3D Printer Training

In this program you will go through the training necessary to use the Ultimaker 2+ 3D printers on your own. We will teach you how to safely print designs from pre-existing files and introduce you to MakerSpace guidelines regarding 3D printer usage and PLA filament costs. Join us in the MakerSpace for Halloween-inspired 3D printing! Learn to design cute and ghoulish 3D-modeled pumpkins in Tinkercad. Have them printed and add them to your Halloweens decorations!

Trying to figure out how to sew by hand? If so, come to this training in which you will learn the basics.

Magic Sewing with Joshua: Masks

In this beginner level class, we will learn how to make Halloween masks.
Although we have some fabric samples, we encourage you to bring in your own supplies.
This class will be led by MakerSpace volunteer Joshua Lamanna.
You must complete the sewing machine training (available on October 18) in order to participate in this class.

Zombie handsZombie Survival with Marcus

Find out and discuss what you can do in order to protect yourself in case of a zombie outbreak!
This entertaining program will focus on the following topics: Basic Zombie Survival Techniques; Combat Weapons; Survival Vehicles; and Common Mistakes, Myths, and Generally Bad Ideas about Zombies.
The workshop will be led by Marcus Suraci, the volunteer MakerSpace Sound Engineer.

GarageBand Audio Software

GarageBand is a fully equipped music production software available on Macs in the MakerSpace studios. The software includes a complete sound library with instruments, presets for guitar and voice, and an incredible selection of session drummers and percussionists.

Audacity Audio Software

Audacity is a great tool for storytellers and music makers. It can be used to create podcast material, soundtracks, songs, voice-overs or audition material. Learn how to use Audacity to record live audio, find free sound effects and Foley clips, and use editing tools to refine your tracks.

Video Basics and iMovie Software

Learn what’s available in the MakerSpace’s video studio for all of your video production needs.  Additionally, we will introduce you to iMovie software useful for editing video clips, adding titles, themes, music and effects such as fades and slides.

OtherMill and OtherPlan Software

Interested in using the OtherMill CNC milling machine to mill your own circuit boards and other projects out of wood and metal? This training will provide you with the experience necessary to operate the machine safely and knowledgeably, as well as how to use the OtherPlan software. Ages 16 and up.

Cricut Explore Air and Design Space Software

Cricut is an electronic cutting machine for DIY projects and crafts. It allows you to make projects with over 100 different materials including paper, adhesive vinyl and fabric. In this training we will show you how to initiate your project in Design Space software and send the file to Cricut.

Sewing Basics with Brother CS-6000i

Interested in learning how to use the Brother CS-6000i sewing machine for a variety of fabric projects? This training will cover the basics of threading the machine, winding the bobbin, and using computerized settings to produce unique sewing patterns.

In this appointment based training you will learn how to use the 3D printer on your own. Once you finish the training, staff will instruct you on where to purchase 3D printing supplies.
