This collection consists of letters
and documents relating to the placing of several historic markers and monuments in
Onondaga County by a committee of the Syracuse Chapter of the Sons of the American
Revolution. These monuments commemorate the relationships between the Onondaga
Indians and the early European settlers.
Biographical History
Frank N. Decker was a Syracuse farmer, lawyer, author and historian. Mr. Decker was
active in the Syracuse Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and through
his work with this group, was instrumental in placing several historic monuments and
markers in Onondaga County. Decker collected and donated his papers to the library
regarding the research involved in determining the subject, location, and the
subsequent dedication of these monuments.
Scope and Contents of the Collection
This collection consists of letters and documents relating to the placing of several
historic markers and monuments in Onondaga County by a committee of the Syracuse
Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. These monuments commemorate the
relationships between the Onondaga Indians and the early European settlers.
