            <head>Biographical History</head>
            <p>Hubbard Gaylord and his wife Beulah lived and worked in Onondaga County in the early
                to mid 1800's. Hubbard Gaylord was a farmer, and he and Beulah raised their family
                in the town of Onondaga. These letters, journals and family notes give a glimpse
                into the family history of the Gaylord family of Onondaga County in the early part
                of the 1800's.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents of the Collection</head>
            <p>This collection consists of a letters to and from members of the Gaylord family, two
                day books, and a collection of genealogical notes of the Gaylord family. </p>
        </scopecontent>

            <head>Arrangement of the Collection</head>
            <p> The material in this collection is divided into 3 series; correspondence, day books
                and genealogical notes. Each series is organized into narrower sub series and then
                arranged chronologically. </p>
            <p>Series 1: Correspondence</p>
            <p>This series includes the original letters and envelopes to and from members of the
                Gaylord family. The letters are arranged by author.</p>
            <p>Series 2: Day Books</p>
            <p>This series includes two day books, journalling the daily life of Hubbard Gaylord
                from 1833-1847. These journals include Gaylord's work tasks, social and family life,
                weather and other daily observations. Of note are dates of family births, deaths and
                marriages.</p>
            <p> Series 3: Genealogical Notes</p>
            <p> This series contains notes on the Gaylord family of Syracuse, NY.</p>
