Julia H. Quackenbush compiled information on the line of William Sawyer of Newbury,
Massachusetts. Mrs. Quackenbush was a native of Watervliet, and lived in Syracuse,
NY for the last 27 years of her life. She was an prominent club woman and civic
leader in Syracuse. Mrs. Quackenbush was a regent of the General Asa Danforth
chapter of the DAR, and a regent of the Moses Dewitt chapter of the DAR and past
state secretary of the Daughters of American Colonists. She was honored by the DAR
with a bronze memorial tablet in the Valley Forge memorial tower. Because of her
other civic efforts, her name was placed on the honor roll of the New York
Federation of Women's Clubs. Julia Quackenbush died in 1949.
