Kick-Off Events

Jordan Bramley Library

June 24 & 25
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Kids sign-up for our SRP and receive a free ice cream sundae.
  • They are the last days of school and both are 1/2 days - kids are dismissed at 10:30 or 11.
  • Parents pick them up and bring them here.
  • They load up on books and start reading without skipping a beat!!

NOPL @ North Syracuse

Monday June 24
2:00 PM - 5:30 PM

  • Sign up for summer reading at the library, decorate a tote bag to carry all the books and movies you borrow, enjoy a slice of cake, and learn about all the summer reading activities that will be offered for free this summer at the library!

Fairmount Community Library

Tuesday, June 25
4:00 PM 

  • Library Booth at the Camillus Farmer's Market
  • Drop in between 4-7pm and pick up your Summer Reading packet, register for programs, while children can dig for geodes with Finders Keepers Mining! 
  • Also enjoy all of the great shopping, music and food at the farmer's market.

  • Soule Branch’s Annual Strawberry Social serves as the official kick-off of the summer season for kids and adults of every age. 
  • A family-friendly concert by the McCarthys and strawberry ice cream sundaes are highlights of the evening. 
  • Pick up information on the summer learning program and all the special events for the whole summer.

  • Join us on the library’s lawn for our Annual Kick-off Party, featuring live music from the McCarthy Family Band!
  • During the party, families can pick up their Explore Summer Library Loot, booklets, or bookmarks and learn more about the summer program.
  • Guests can explore different booths during the party to get a jump start on learning, playing, creating, and reading this summer.
  • Free cotton candy, popcorn, and fruit is available while supplies last.

  • Kickoff Summer Reading with Dan the Snakeman! 
  • Dan’s shows were created to educate people of all ages about reptiles. 
  • Through informative displays and interactions, the presentations are very successful in helping the audience better understand and appreciate the special nature of these animals and their importance to the environment. 
  • The audience is invited to interact with the animals on an up-close and personal level. 
  • Be sure to sign up for the Summer Reading program and a summer of fun!
