TREK: Teen Reading Engagement Kit

SubscribePick UpRead, Review and Return

What is TREK?

TREK stands for Teen Reading Engagement Kits and are available for teens in grades 6 – 12 for pickup at any city library branch location. Each kit contains 1-2 books that go along with one of our monthly themes and are hand selected by your local librarian along with assorted goodies like stickers, magnets, candy, and craft supplies. Return the book once you have read it and keep the goodies!

How do I sign up?
SUBSCRIBE

Just fill out a simple TREK questionnaire! All you need is a library card to sign up for this free service. There are 25 spots available every month.

How does it work?
PICK UP, READ, REVIEW, RETURN

After you fill out the questionnaire, a librarian at your neighborhood library branch will hand select a book for you to read and enjoy. Once you are notified that your box is ready to be picked up, simply pick up your box using your library card at your chosen library branch. After you have finished reading your book, return your box and book and fill out the short survey included in your box in order to be eligible for future TREKs. All of the goodies inside of the box are yours to keep! You must fill out a TREK questionnaire every time you wish to pick up a box.

When should I sign up?

Sign up for a TREK begins on the 1st of the month before your box pickup and sign up ends on the 20th of every month. For example, if you would like to sign up for July’s TREK, you would have from June 1st to June 20th to fill out the questionnaire. If you want to receive August’s TREK, you would have from July 1st to July 20th to fill out the questionnaire.
