This exhibit features watercolors and nature photography by Carol Kolceski and will be up May 1 through May 30, 2024 on the main floor of the library, in the adult section.

About the Artist:
Carol Kolceski is a nature-inspired plein air watercolorist and photographer hailing from Jamesville, NY, where her childhood playground stretched into the enchanting landscapes of Clark's Reservation. Immersed in the tranquility of nature since youth, Kolceski's artistic journey finds its roots in the serene walks taken alongside her family amidst the beauty of the outdoors and trips to the Adirondacks. Influenced by the masterful works of Andrew Wyeth, John Marin, Winslow Homer, and Georgia O'Keefe, Kolceski's passion for watercolor painting blossomed during the solitude of the Covid era in 2022. Her art reflects her deep connection with the natural world, capturing the play of light, texture, and earth tones that define her beloved surroundings. With each stroke, she seeks to convey the serenity and quietude found amidst the trees, the scent of Earth, and the songs of birds. Whether mountain biking, hiking, or wandering with her faithful canine companion, Willow, pleinairist, Kolceski finds inspiration in every rustling leaf and babbling brook. Through her art, she invites viewers to share in the timeless beauty and tranquility that nature offers.
