Maxwell Memorial Library serves the Town of Camillus, on the western side of Onondaga County. Founded in 1922, Maxwell is housed in a circa-1868 former church on the corner of Genesee and Leroy streets in the village of Camillus. We offer a wide variety of contemporary materials, programs and services:
The library offers opportunities to become involved with book clubs, preschool and toddler story times, volunteer service, and an active Friends group that supports the library through regular fundraising events. Maxwell also has an excellent summer reading program for babies through teens, with the ever-popular Wild Wednesday family nights. All activities, programs, and services are free. The Maxwell Memorial Library maintains meeting room space and study rooms for use by not-for-profit community groups, associations, and agencies engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual, or civic meetings or activities of interest and/or benefit to the community. Please read our Room Reservation and Use Policy on our website. Maxwell Library’s “digital branch” offers patrons downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies and music. On site, patrons can use computers and tablets, check out ereaders and tablets to take home, and make an appointment with tech-savvy staff to help you use your electronic devices. Staff:
