History

Serving the Near Westside community of Syracuse, the Mundy Branch Library offers its patrons technology access and support, as well as educational programs for children and adults, while still maintaining traditional lending library services.
Named after Ezekiel Wilson Mundy - a city librarian from 1880, until retirement in 1916 - the library opened its doors in 1917, as a station in Salt City Store. Changing locations numerous times over the years, Mundy Branch Library moved to its permanent location - 1204 S. Geddes Street - in 1988. It currently serves the neighborhoods of the Westside, Southwest, and Strathmore area, while maintaining excellent relationships with the local schools, including Bellevue Elementary, Delaware Elementary, Roberts K-8, Seymour Dual Language, and Fowler High School.

Offering a wide array of popular books, magazines, DVDs, and more, the library has 15 public computers available to kid, teen, and adult patrons and 10 iPads for kids and teens.
