Reading to dogs can boost reading skills in children as well as help with emotional and social skills. OCPL offers the following read to a dog opportunities:

Liverpool Public Library

Paws to Read is a long-standing program at 10 a.m. Saturdays
in the Children's Room.

Children can sign up when they arrive to read to a friendly dog
from PAWS of CNY, Inc.

Family members are encouraged to get involved as well.

Award winning and retired local news personality Laura Hand and her PAWS of CNY therapy-certified dog, Moose, are coming to OFL to help kids read! Simply pick out a book, grab your spot in line, and read to Moose! Practice makes perfect and reading is no different, but it sure is a lot more fun with a cute and friendly pomeranian!
