Monday, March 30th

Betts Branch: DIY Window Clings for Bird Safety 
3:30 PM

Join Miss Thea for a brief lesson about bird strikes and bird safety, followed by a DIY window cling craft that can help keep birds safe at your own home!  

Hazard Branch: DIY Travel Mazes
All-Day Event  

Create your own travel maze that you can take home with you. This is an all-day event and it is for ages 5 to 12.

Liverpool Public Library: Youth Astronomy Network Camp  
Registration Required: Monday - Thursday event

This is a Monday -Thursday event in the evenings geared towards tweens. You will interact with actual telescopes remotely, process astronomical photos and learn about careers in astronomy. The program is for those in grades 6-8. Registration is required.

Tully Free Library: Kite Making
12:00 PM

As we finally hit some warmer temps, it’s time to take to the air (with your kites!). At noon, there will be a program in kite making. This is for grades 5 to 8 and it all gets started at noon.

Salina Library: Scratch Memory Game
2:00 PM
Registration Required

This is going You can create a memory game with the Scratch programming language. No previous experience necessary. This program is for grades 4 through 7. Things get started at 2pm. Make sure you register.

Marcellus Free Library: Egg-citing Scavenger Hunt
All-Day Event, All-Week

This is going on ALL week at Marcellus. Explore the Children’s Section to find hidden lettered eggs that form a secret message. Once you’ve solved the mystery word, bring your completed entry to the circulation desk to claim your prize. Stop in anytime during break week!

Onondaga Free Library: Mind The Gap Trivia
2:00 PM: Teens vs Librarians
6:00 PM: Teens vs Parents

If you have never played, this is a fun trivia game for multiple generations. You have to know trivia from Boomers to Gen X to Millennials to Gen Z. There are two sessions. At 2pm, it is the teens vs. librarians. And at 6pm, we have Teens vs. Parents (that should be good). Registration is requested.  

Maxwell Memorial Library: Mystery Egg Scavenger Hunt
All-Day, All-Week

For children of all ages. Mystery eggs are hidden all around the children’s area. If you find an egg, you can keep the egg AND the surprise inside. One per child please. 


Tuesday, March 31st

Beauchamp Branch: Hand Drum Workshop
4:00 PM
Registration Required

Discover the basics of hand drumming with John Heard. Learn simple techniques and play together as a group. For ages 13 and up. The workshop goes from 4-5pm and be sure to call the library to register.

Paine Branch: Brussel Sprout Bunny Stamping
11:00 AM

Miss Sue will show kids how to create an adorable bunny from cut Brussel Sprouts and bright colored paint. This springtime craft session takes place at 11am.

Soule Branch: Kids Button Making
All-Day Event

Stop in for some fun button making. This is an all-day event. They will have some designs you can use to make a wearable pin or print out your own images to use.

Hazard Branch: Women’s History Scavenger Hunt
All-Day Event 
 

Travel through women’s history as you seek out eight different symbols in the children’s corner. Pick up a sheet and start searching. This is an all-day event. For ages 5-12.

Tully Free Library: Design Your Own Light Switch Cover
12:00 PM

Need a new look for your room. Stop into Tully Free at noon on Tuesday to create a sweet looking light switch cover. This is for grades 6 up to high school seniors and it starts at noon.

Minoa Library: Lego Open Build
11:00 AM

This program kicks off at 11am in the community room adjacent to the library. The library will supply the legos, you take care of the rest.

Onondaga Free Library: Retro GameCon
2:00 PM

Time to go all old school video games, with a multitude of games on oh, so many formats. Player one, test out the Switch, PS4, Xbox with any number of vintage games. Some WII bowling, perhaps. Whatever your game, these guys probably have it. The fun starts at 2pm and goes until 3:30pm.

Manlius Library: Oil Pastel Bookmarks
3:00 PM

This program is for patrons 13 and up. Registration is required and the creation of your very artsy bookmarks begins at 3pm.

Salina Library: Percy Jackson Party

Fans of the Percy Jackson series… UNITE! Experience a day like none other as your DemiGod training starts here with Percy and his friends. This program is for ages 10-14 and gets started at 2pm. Be sure to register.

Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville: Library Lego Club
4:00 PM

Everything is awesome because it’s Lego time, everyone. See you in the programming room and the building and creating kicks off at 4pm. See you there.

NOPL Cicero: Kids Team Puzzle Challenge
2:00 PM

Get your kid-specific team of up to 3 people and work together to complete a 100-piece puzzle as fast as you can. This is a race. Prizes awarded to the fastest team. There is a limit of 5 teams for the event and be sure you register online. Puzzlers…. On your mark at 2pm and it goes until 4pm.

NOPL North Syracuse: Mario Crafting
3:00 PM

Another fun Mario event. This program includes crafts, foods, games and a scavenger hunt. The party is for kids and tweens. It goes from 3-7pm. 


Wednesday, April 1st 

Elbridge Free Library: Mystery Box Challenge
10:30 AM

The library is having a touch and feel challenge with the Mystery Box. WHAT is inside? This program is for kids 6 and up and gets started at 10:30 AM.

Hazard Branch: CD Spinners  
All-Day Event

Decorate a CD then turn it into a spinning piece of art! For ages 5- 12. This is an all day event.

Paine Branch: Honey Bees and Beekeeping
11:00 AM

Mrs. Marriott will teach children the basics of beekeeping, hives, and anything you want to know about honey and bees. Kids will learn how to make a bee watering station. The program buzzes into Paine at 11am. 

Manlius Library: RetroGameCon & a Zelda 40th Celebration
2:00 PM

If you missed the GameCon folks at Onondaga Free on Tuesday, you have a second chance to grab a console as the vintage games travel all the way out to Manlius, so you can play Switch, Gamecube, PS4 and any number of vintage games. No quarters needed. Your three lives begin at 2pm and go to 4pm. 

NOPL Brewerton: Book Stenciling
3:00 PM
Registration Required

You will learn to stencil the outside of your book and add some simple and creative designs. You do need to bring a book… all other supplies are provided. This is for teens age 13 and up. You have to register and the program goes from 3pm-4pm. 

Solvay Public Library: It’s Mario Day! 
6:00 PM

It’s a him! It’s Mario. Dress as your favorite character (Hoping Brian dresses as Yoshi), play through their life-sized Mario level, play game and watch the Super Mario Bros. movie. This is an evening event that gets started at 6pm.  

Salina Library: Create Art Like Mary Blair

Last school break the library went Matisse. For this week, create colorful designs like Disney legend Mary Blair. This artistic program is for kids from grades K to 5. The brush hits the canvas at 4pm. Be sure to register. 


Thursday, April 2nd

Elbridge Free Library: Community Garden Starters

It’s getting to be that time of the year for the folks with the green thumb. Stop by Elbridge to get things like seeds, pot decorations and DIY Plant Markers. Things go green starting at 1pm.

Petit Branch: RetroGameCon
4:00 PM

This is your third life, people. If you missed it at Onondaga Free or Manlius, this is yet another chance to experience the joy of vintage video games. Stop in to Petit (no quarters needed) and play to your hearts content. The Petit session starts at 4pm. 


Friday, April 3rd 

Liverpool Public Library: STEM Fieldtrip at Clark Reservation

Registration Required

Join us for a guided hike at Clark Reservation filled with fun facts about native plants and unique fossils. There are rugged trails and this program is best for ages 7 and up. This trip is NOT stroller friendly.  Registration required.

Solvay Public Library: Glow Stick Dance Party
12:00 PM

Stop by and sing and dance to your favorite songs from Huntrix, T-Swift and Sabrina Carpenter and many more. Glow sticks will be provided. The festivities get underway at noon.

Onondaga Free Library: Vinyl Spin Art
1:30 PM
Registration Required

For this program, you get to use a turntable (kids, it will be explained to you) to get all colorful and design your own spin art on old vinyl records (again…. We will walk you through what those are). This is for ages 5 and up. Be sure to call to register (Perhaps on your rotary phone). It starts at 1:30pm.

Skaneateles Library: Meet a Therapy Dog
2:00 PM

Stop by the library to meet Nessie. She is a very cute doodle but you need to see for yourself. Nessie would love for you to read her a short story from a children’s book or simply take in the peaceful dog vibes. Nessie will be there from 2-3:30pm in the children’s room. 


Saturday, April 4th

Betts Branch: No Candy Egg Hunt
3:30 PM

Toddlers through children age 5 will hunt for eggs inside the library and go home with a free book. Pre-registration required for an accurate head count of kids. Gets started at 3:30pm

Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville: Fancy Tea Party
1:00 PM

Pinkies out, all. You are cordially invited to Miss Jeanie’s super fancy tea party of the year. They will have crafts, you can dance and have delightful conversation. Feel free to dress in what makes you feel fancy. This is for children of all ages, and it gets started at 1pm in the community rooms.
