On April 11, 1919, New York Governor Al Smith signed the "Historians' Law." The first law of its kind in the United States, the Historians' Law allowed for every village, town, and city in the state to have an official historian to gather and preserve historical records. To date, no other state in the Union has such a law on the books. Come and learn about the various genealogical records these historians can help you uncover.

This event will feature guest speaker Bonnie Kisselstein, Historian for the Town of Lysander & Local History Librarian for the Baldwinsville Public Library. It will take place via Zoom only. Please register to receive the Zoom link and any participant handouts.
