Register beginning Monday, June 29th at any City Library and receive three Starter Cards, and a “How to Play” card!
Earn Bonus Cards by logging your reading and attending select events this summer!
Reading Dragons Tracker & Brochure [PDF]
- Collect mythical creature cards for every 30 minutes of reading. Up to 3 cards weekly, as listed.
- Read what you enjoy; books, audiobooks, magazines, and graphic novels all count!
- Receive Bonus Cards by attending select events throughout the summer.
- Bring your tracker to the Children's Desk to receive your cards. A librarian will initial when they give you your card.
To play Rock, Paper, Scissors:
- You and a friend each choose one card secretly, keeping it hidden so your friend can't see what you chose.
- Then count to 3 and both of you flip over your cards to see who wins.
- Fire beats Leaf
- Leaf beats Water
- Water beats Fire
- If you have the same color, it’s a tie.
To play War:
- Two players each flip over cards from their decks. Following the rules above.
- The winner of each flip collects the cards on their side.
- Whoever has the most cards at the end wins.
- Don’t forget to write your name on your cards and sort them out after!
