About the Library:

Fines & Fees

  • Fine free except for technology and park/local attraction passes
  • Fees charged for lost or damaged items

History

Formed by the Mattydale School Mother’s Club in 1942, the library moved several times before opening at its permanent location next to the Roxboro Road Middle School in 1968. In 2002, that building was demolished to make way for construction of the current building. Fun fact: The library is located on land next to Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum’s childhood home (1866-1882).

Collection

Salina Library offers a wide range of materials including books, DVDs, music CDs, graphic novels, large print books, magazines, and audiobooks. Digital items, including e-books, e-audiobooks, movies and music, are available to download or stream on a variety of devices. Databases for research are accessible both in the library and remotely. Technology devices and free passes for parks and local attractions are also available.
