This one-hour power yoga class is accessible for beginners and provides a challenge for advanced students. Several levels of modifications will be provided for each guided pose, so that you may choose a more peaceful practice up to a more engaging and activating practice. This is a "choose-your-own-adventure" style of yoga where you may invite tranquility or enjoy a good sweat. We will start with a gentle warm-up and then work through a series of poses to develop flexibility, strength and balance. There will be an emphasis on breathwork throughout the practice.

Dan's Bio

Dan discovered yoga through free programs providing yoga for veterans and has been practicing since 2010. He found yoga very helpful for managing his symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and chronic back pain. He also enjoys the health benefits of yoga as a low-impact exercise for physical and mental fitness. He is presently attending Upstate Medical University where he also leads a weekly yoga class for fellow students. He enjoys sharing yoga as a moving meditation that is welcoming and accessible for persons of all skill levels, physical abilities, experiences and identities. He has completed 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2021, and 17 hours of trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation training in 2022.
