The Onondaga County Public Libraries offer thousands of opportunities for patrons to participate in a variety of programs at  one of our 32 locations. Join a book club, color with your friends, learn how to quilt, explore the many things our Makerspaces offer or get tips for starting a small business. Come and discover how you can learn, explore and create at your local library.
The Literacy Resource Center also offers instructional books and videos for literacy and ESOL teachers and tutors. Tutors will find many helpful ideas for instruction, including blackline masters of worksheets for their learners.
Books and audio/visual materials that help adults learn English and improve reading, writing and speaking skills are available for use or loan at the Central Library. Literacy staff is available to orient customers to the collection and provide suggestion on helpful materials or by appointment. Conversation groups are also offered, for those who wish to practice their English speaking and listening skills, and math and reading skills help may also available. Adults who wish to improve their literacy skills may call (315) 435-1835 for details.

Completely fine free Fees still charged for lost items Named for Dr. Charles Edward White (1848-1923), principal of Franklin School for 36 years, White Branch Library is the city’s oldest branch.  Designed by architect Melvin S. King in the colonial style on the site of the original Franklin School, it opened to the public on July 1, 1925. In 1928, local artist Margaret Huntington Boehner presented three mural paintings that hang in the Children’s Room. The murals depict Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and the Pied Piper of Hamlin.
