Moreland the MagicianMoreland the Magician

Register today for David Moreland’s high-energy 30-minute LIVE show via Zoom. Through the miracle of the Internet, Moreland, in his studio in Ithaca, NY, will perform a show especially for patrons of OCPL, and you get to tune in and interact via your computer screen at home. The show is bursting with magic, comedy, puppets, and – YES! -- audience participation & opportunities to volunteer! During the show, Moreland will take you ‘behind the scenes’ and teach you a magic trick you can perform at home! Explore the magic of mirrors, lenses, and light in this live science demonstration from the MOST -- from refraction and reflection to light-bending and more! Zoo to youZoo to You

Can an owl turn its head all the way around?  Do porcupines shoot their quills?  Can turtles leave their shells?  Find out by joining the Rosamond Gifford Zoo virtually as they present and analyze some myths and misconceptions about animals found at the zoo!  You will see some never before seen videos of the zoo animals, hear from their keepers, meet animals live and up close, and ask questions to a zoo educator.  This 45 minute interactive program for all ages is sure to keep everyone engaged.  Learn how to partcipate in this event on our Zoo to You page.
